The Márquez brothers introduce Karting in their training plan with the brand CRG

The CEO and representative of CRG in Spain, Carlos Gil, deliver the CRG KZ karts to Marc and Alex Márquez at the legendary Karting Vendrell.

The Márquez brothers have reached an agreement with Carlos Gil, CEO of the historic Karting Vendrell circuit and representative of CRG in Spain. With this agreement, Marc and Álex Márquez will have two state-of-the-art CRG KZ karts to introduce the karting modality in their training plan.

The Italian manufacturer CRG is a leader in the karting sector with more than 20 world championships. Drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were some of the champions of this prestigious brand, which Karting Vendrell distributes throughout Spain under the guidance of Carlos Gil.

Karting is a very physically demanding modality. The entire upper body is tested with practicing it, especially the back, arms, and neck, due to the high speed obtained when cornering with the powerful CRG KZ competition karts.

Marc and Alex Márquez’s first contact with the CRG KZ karts took place at the Karting Vendrell circuit, where they fine-tuned the single seaters together with the entire technical team of Carlos Gil.

The Márquez brothers spent a fun training day where they enjoyed the sensations of driving a competition kart and were able to see how demanding this automobile modality is.

Márquez returns to Thailand with good memories

Márquez reaches the fifteenth round of the World Championship 72 points ahead of his nearest rival in the overall standings, with 125 points still in play.

Marc Márquez:
It will be exciting to race in Thailand for the first time; for sure there will be many fans in the grandstands, which is always a nice feeling. We must remain focused and calm though, as it will be important to manage the weekend well, working in the way that we’re used to doing. We had a good test in February but we’ll need to recheck every detail starting on Friday morning. Some parts of the circuit are tricky, but the layout in general is nice. Surely the high humidity and temperature are going to be demanding on the body, but when you get on the bike you just forget those things and simply focus on riding.”

Marc Márquez compete at favourable Sachsenring circuit

Marc Márquez has won on his last eight visits to the German track: Once in 125cc, twice in Moto2 and five times in MotoGP, making him the most successful premier class rider at Sachsenring.

Marc Márquez:
“The victory we scored at Assen was important because it was a race where it was incredibly easy to make a mistake but instead we were able to increase our advantage in the Championship. Now we go to a very different circuit where we’re normally very strong, but every year is different; you could object that I often repeat this idea, but it’s true! Weather could play an important role, as we’ve seen in the past: if it’s rainy or mixed, everything will change very quickly and you must be ready. So we’ll see; we’ll go there and try to find our level and be strong from the start of the weekend. Then on Sunday we’ll try and fight for the podium again.”

Four-time MotoGP champion and world championship leader Marc Márquez was racing around with a Formula 1 car for the day and thereby fulfilling a long-held dream. Under the guidance
of former Formula 1 driver Mark Webber, the Spaniard sped over the asphalt in a Toro Rosso. Hundreds of fans lined the opened stands to watch the superstar’s Formula 1 adventure in the flesh. There was huge international media interest in the event. Dozens of journalists and photographers from right across Europe came to Spielberg to be there as Marc Márquez, Mark Webber, Dr. Helmut Marko and Niki Lauda talked about their passion for motorsport.

Two days after competing in the world championship in Mugello, the Spaniard switched from two wheels to four. After a few warm-up laps, the Toro Rosso went straight into top gear. The top motorcyclist showed in impressive style that motorsport is in his blood. Having been perfectly prepared for the event by experienced F1 driver Mark Webber, the four-time MotoGP champion notched up lap after lap at the Red Bull Ring in a super-fast F1 car and loved every minute of it!

The Formula 1 adventure of Marc Márquez was a highlight for Austrian fans. Numerous motorsport enthusiasts came to Spielberg on Tuesday to enter for free and support the current MotoGP leader up close at the racing circuit. He took a short time to sign autographs and pose for photos in return.

Marc Márquez:
“There is a massive difference to MotoGP. The limited visibility was a great challenge, in particular, to begin with. You feel a lot more constricted in the cockpit. The braking distances and timing in turns is completely different. A Formula 1 car has much more downforce, of course, which made for a lot of fun in the part of the circuit with the most turns, in particular.”
