Marc Márquez ready for fast Mugello

The sixth round of the MotoGP World Championship comes after two consecutive victories for Marc Márquez at Jerez and Le Mans, in addition to his win in Argentina and second place in Qatar.

Mugello was also the venue for the first win of Marc Márquez’s Grand Prix career: In 125cc in 2010.

Marc Márquez:
After Le Mans I am first of all hoping for good weather in Mugello! I like the circuit, even if we have not always had the best results there. If we keep working well from Friday as in previous rounds, I feel confident we can have a good race. Our rivals are always very strong and very close at this circuit, it can be a fun race on Sunday!

Another Márquez masterclass in France

The reigning MotoGP World Champion led the way into the second corner and, except for three laps in which Jack Miller occupied the lead, was out on his own for the rest of the race . From Lap 7 he extended his advantage, which reached over 4 seconds.

His victory equals teammate Jorge Lorenzo’s 47 in MotoGP, and gives Honda a 300th win in the premier class.

Marc Márquez:
Of course here in Le Mans it’s always difficult with the temperature and the weather, especially today. I think this is the first time I have had a race where I had the soft tyre in the front but it was the safest option. I was focused on being consistent until I saw the gap increasing, I pushed a little bit more and into the low 32s until I saw I had two seconds. I’m happy with today’s result and it is fantastic to be able to take Honda’s 300th premier class win!

VICTORY AT JEREZ GIVES MARC MÁRQUEZ SERIES LEAD

The Repsol Honda rider was first into the first corner and escaped for his second win of the season.

Marc Márquez started from third place on the grid and took the initiative from the opening corner, before steadily establishing an advantage that reached almost 4 seconds when 5 laps from the end.

With the 25 points earned today, Márquez regains the lead of the MotoGP World Championship. With 70 points, he is 1 point ahead of nearest rival Alex Rins.

Marc Márquez:
This race was a mental race, more than a physical one. After the mistake in Austin it wasn’t easy to lead the race like that from beginning to end, but I knew I had the pace to do it and the bike to do it. I wanted to do a race like in Argentina and at the start in Austin to prove it was a mistake there. I felt good all weekend, smooth, comfortable and able to ride how I want. Thanks to the Repsol Honda Team, they’ve done an amazing job over the last few weeks and here this weekend. It’s great to be leading the championship again.
